We assess the jaws, lymph nodes, facial muscles, tongue, cheeks, airways, teeth and gums. A scale and clean is usually done together with a dental examination, where we clean and polish the teeth. To maintain good oral health, we recommend this once every six months.
Maintaining good oral health is important in preventing dental decay and gum disease. We tailor our oral hygiene and dietary advice according to each patient’s individual circumstances, specific needs and take into account their age group and abilities.

We built our first clinic in Knoxfield from scratch by word of mouth. No gap check-up & clean and the $189 package is the way we say thank you to our patients for their kind referrals. We hope that everyone can access quality dental care at a reasonable price.

No Gap means there are no out-of-pocket costs for eligible services when your private health fund benefit covers the treatment provided. Eligibility depends on your health fund, level of cover, available annual limits, waiting periods, and clinical requirements. The No Gap Check-up & Clean offer is available up to a maximum of two times per calendar year or financial year (or as permitted by your health fund benefits). Patients must have dental extras cover that provides at least partial benefits for the eligible services. If your health fund does not provide any benefit for the treatment, or if you have reached your annual limit or maximum eligible visits, the applicable fees will be payable on the day of your appointment.
Eligible patients with participating private health insurance may receive a No Gap Check-up and Clean. For patients without private health insurance, we offer the same comprehensive package for $189.
Most patients benefit from a dental examination and professional clean every six months. Your dentist may recommend a different schedule based on your oral health condition and risk factors.
A comprehensive dental examination may include assessment of the teeth, gums, tongue, cheeks, jaws, facial muscles, lymph nodes and airways. This helps identify potential oral health concerns and supports preventive dental care.
A professional scale and clean helps remove plaque and tartar that regular brushing and flossing may not reach. Maintaining good oral hygiene may help reduce the risk of dental decay and gum disease.
Most patients experience little to no discomfort during a routine dental examination and clean. Individual experiences may vary depending on oral health conditions and sensitivity levels.
