Joe is the Principal Dentist and Founder of McKinnon Dental Care.
Joe migrated to New Zealand with his family when he was very young. He grew up in Wellington and subsequently studied dentistry at the University of Otago. Joe is known for his friendly mannerism and gentle touch, which is the hallmark of his practicing philosophy.
Joe enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, especially in the area of orthodontics and oral surgery. He has worked at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Dunedin Hospital, New Zealand and also at the Oral Surgery Department of Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne.
Joe values that dentistry is a lifelong learning process. He attends continuing education regularly with the aim of constantly striving to improve the services he provides to the community.
Outside dentistry, Joe treasures the time he spends with his family. He enjoys playing the piano, weights and strength training, as he believes in maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Dr Wendy is a true Melbournian at heart. She attended the prestigious Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School and then completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine in 2013, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2017 from The University of Melbourne.
Dr Wendy has a strong passion for healthcare. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, helping them achieve excellent oral health and providing them with high quality evidence-based dental treatment in an honest and gentle manner.
She is qualified to provide all dental services but particularly enjoys treating children, root canal treatment and restorative treatment (fillings, crowns, cosmetic dentistry). She has also done further training to provide nitrous oxide sedation (happy gas), soft tissue laser treatment and Invisalign (clear aligner orthodontic treatment).
Dr Wendy can speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Outside of the dental clinic, Dr Wendy loves her reformer Pilates, travelling the world and trying new cuisines. She also enjoys maintaining her healthy collection of indoor plants!
Isabel obtained a Bachelor of Biomedical Science before completing her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2018. She worked initially in Ballarat, Maryborough and Surrey Hills before starting with Knoxfield Dental Care in 2020, and McKinnon Dental Care in 2022.
Isabel has been a Melbourne girl all her life, and loves working for her local community in assisting with their dental needs. She has a particular passion for working with anxious patients, and happily sees people of all ages and backgrounds. Isabel places a large importance on prevention and patient education and strives to provide a calming and friendly environment in the clinic.
In her spare time, Isabel enjoys life with her husband Adrian (also a dentist!) and their cat Winston. She enjoys creative writing, board games with friends and attempting to learn the Italian language.
Si Si completed both her university degrees at The University of Melbourne, first obtaining a Bachelor sf Science then graduating Top of her year as the Valedictorian for the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
She has worked in the Knoxfield practice since 2019 and loves meeting new patients and seeing her regular patients. She grew up in Melbourne and loves that she can serve her local community continually.
Si Si believes in providing the optimal treatment for her patients in a gentle and caring manner. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry such as Fillings , Crowns Root canal , extractions and Implants . She sees patients of all ages, in particular her gentle manner has led her to have a growing passion for working with children and easing their fears with seeing a dentist .Si Si understands the importance of oral health and takes time to listen to the concerns of her patients and explain the procedures to the patients beforehand.
Outside of dentistry, Si Si enjoys checking out new restaurants and cafes, appreciating the variety of cuisines Melbourne has to offer. She also enjoys being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful scenery nature has to offer.
Samantha graduated from the University of Melbourne with Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Dental Surgery. Coming from a Chinese Malaysian background and having studied Mandarin from a young age, Samantha is able to converse in Mandarin.
She has a strong interest in preventive dental care and treating kids. Samantha has always been passionate about delivering high quality care and helping people achieve good oral health. Her main aim is to help patients improve their smile and confidence through dentistry. She firmly believes that everyone deserves to have a smile that they are proud of.
Outside of dentistry, Samantha enjoys experimenting with both digital and film photography. Her spare time is usually spent going on day trips and studying Japanese language.
